Dimethyl carbonate (DMC) is an important organic chemical intermediate. Because its molecular structure contains carbonyl, methyl, methoxide and carbonyl methoxide, it can be widely used in organic synthesis reactions such as carbonylation, methylation, methoxylation and carbonyl methylation.
